CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />DEPUTY CITY ATTORNEY/ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY/ <br />SENIOR ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY/CHIEF ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY <br />(continued) <br />Experience (Assistant City Attorney): <br />Five years of progressively responsible law experience as a practicing <br />attorney in the State of California. Experience in a municipal government <br />setting with extensive litigation is desirable. <br />Experience (Senior Assistant City Attorney) <br />Ten (10) years of progressively responsible law experience as a practicing <br />attorney in the State of California, including five years as a practicing <br />attorney within a public agency. Experience in a municipal government <br />setting with extensive experience serving as a legal advisor to an appointed <br />or elected body. Experience managing litigation is desirable. <br />Experience (Chief Assistant City Attorney) <br />Twelve (12) years of progressively responsible law experience as a <br />practicing attorney in the State of California, including five years as a <br />practicing attorney within a public agency, and at least two years of <br />supervisory experience. Experience in a municipal government setting with <br />extensive experience serving as a legal advisor to an appointed or elected <br />body. Experience managing litigation is desirable. <br />Training: <br />Equivalent to a Juris Doctor from an American Bar Association accredited <br />law school. <br /> License or Certificates: <br />Must be a current member in good standing with the State Bar of California. <br />Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Driver's License and a <br />satisfactory driving record, is desirable. <br />Special Requirements: <br />Essential duties require the following physical abilities and work environment: <br />Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, <br />including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; <br />hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Must <br />possess some ability to sit for long periods of time, although standing for prolonged <br />periods and walking between work areas may be required.
