Learn why this isimportant
Dear City Council,
I would like to encourage you to take a stand and officially oppose the Redwood City rent
control ballot measure. The City of Redwood City has taken a balanced and reasonable
approach by respecting state rent control and adding tenant protection measures.
The proposed ballot measure is radical, untested and is likely to cause serious harm to existing
affordable housing (loans and property tax exemptions). The ballot measure will also halt
further production of housing in Redwood City and scare investors and investment away. The
proposed measure is more extreme and encompassing than any other rent control in the world
and will cause a radical shift in the Redwood City housing stock with many unintended and
unknown consequences.
We need you, as our leaders, to take a stand against this radical, idealistic and untested ballot
measure. Our housing stock is too valuable to be a testing ground for extreme housing
regulation, so the rest of the world can learn about the pitfalls of extreme action.
Sincerely,
Kevin Guibara
Millennium Flats
www.millenniumflats.com
42 Arch St, Ste E
Redwood City, CA 94062
Cell: 650-678-4859 (Primary)
Office: 650-341-4332
DRE #01803236
