WHEREA8 an item of $1,000, was prodded in the budget of the last <br />Administration for fiscal year 1954 for Redwood City Harbor Improvements but was <br />deleted in the revised budget under the strict economy program of the new <br />Administration; <br />IOW, THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Redwood City <br />requests and strongly urges that the Congress of the United States, at the <br />present session, make available the necessary funds with which to carry out the <br />work in question; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to <br />members of Committees on appropriations in the United States Senate and House <br />of Representatives and to Senators William F. Knocwland and Thomas H. Huchel and <br />Con.gressmeg J. Arthur Younger and Charles S. Gubser, urging that they use their <br />utmost influence in endeavoring to have legislation enacted which will permit the <br />carrying out of the work involved in the above ref-drred to Improvement Projects <br />at the earliest possible time. <br />- 2 - <br />
