RWI B 8 0 L U T 1 0 N <br />DESIGNATING JUNE 19TH THROUGH JULY 5# 1954 <br />an"IPESS-uUP DAYS" <br />WHEREAS in the year 1939 the Redwood City Rodeo was <br />established as a permanent annual event and has since contin" <br />ued yearly with the exception of war conditions necessitating <br />the omission of the rodeo features during a portion of the <br />war years from 1942 to 1945; and <br />whereas the Peninsula Celebration Association Is again <br />planning for an, outstanding Fourth of July oelebration rodeo <br />and horse show, on July 3# 4 and 5; and <br />WHEREAS in the interests of publiolty for this autstand-o <br />I <br />Ing event June 19th has been selected as an appropriate day, to <br />oom.mence the wearing of early California or western costumes <br />whieh oojit #nes are to be worn `rc= that day throu the la <br />day of the oâ–ºlebration; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Honorable Sidney <br />D. Herkner as Mayor of Redwood City issue a proclamation <br />declaring and designating June 19th 1954 as "Dvess-wUp Day", <br />and. calling upon all citizens of Redwood City to wear appropriate <br />early California or western costumes; and further to solicit <br />the aid support and cooperation of all of the citizens of our com- <br />munity to the end that this celebration may be the most suoaess- <br />ful ever. <br />
