RES 0 tU'T`I'O"N N'00 1775 <br />RESOLUTIOY REQUESTING COOPERATION <br />OF LOCAL , MERCHANTS 'WITH <br />TO MAGAZINES AND CARTOON BOOKS <br />WHEREAS the Chief of Police of the City of Redwood City <br />has rend6red a report to the City Council, advising them that <br />magazines, periodicals, cartoon books., comic books, booklets, <br />seventeen <br />etc, are being sold in/business establishments in Redwood City; <br />and <br />WHEREAS the majority of the said business establishments <br />are examining the various magazines., periodicals, cartoon books, <br />comic books, booklets, etc., and eliminating from their shelves <br />those which in the opinion of the manager are for any reason- <br />objectionable; and <br />' <br />WHEREAS those not so doing have expressed a ngness <br />to examine and eliminate such material from their stands; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of "Redwood <br />City resolves that the merchants handling magazines periodicals, <br />"Re <br />cartoon books, comic books, booklets, etc, in the of City dwood <br />City be commended for their action in examining and elilinating <br />magazines, periodicals, cartoon books, comic books; booklets., <br />etc. of an objectionable nature. <br />FURTHER RESOLVED, that all local merchants be requested to <br />examine carefully any magazines, periodicals, cartoon books, <br />comic books, booklets, etc., and voluntarily eliminate from <br />their shelves any that would be of a sensational'or"harmful <br />nature. <br />4, <br />FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy ofthis�re solution be <br />delivered to all business establishmeh'ts' iti'f l the ' Y : J <br />City handling such =magazintsst"peri .1 bdicist cartoon books, comic' <br />books booklets etc.' <br />
