RESOLUTION NO. 1836 <br />GRANTING VARIANCE TO OTTO TECHEN TO ALLOW <br />AN EXCESS OF 40/ LOT COVERAGE AND A 5 -FOOT <br />REAR YARD ON PORTION OF LOT 10, BLOCK 7, <br />WELLES LEY PARK <br />WHEREAS the Planning Commission of Redwood City submitted <br />the application of OTTO TECHEN for a variance, with the recom- <br />mendation that the application be denied; and <br />14HEREAS the Council of Redwood City has considered said <br />application in accordance with the provisions of Section 20 of <br />Ordinance No. 600; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of Redwood City hereby resolves <br />as follows: <br />1. Said Council finds the following conditions exist: <br />(a) That there are exceptional or extraordinary <br />circumstances which apply to the land, build- <br />ing or use referred to in the application, <br />which circumstances or conditions do not <br />generally apply to lands, buildings or use <br />in the same district. <br />(b) That the granting of the application is <br />necessary for the preservation and enjoyment <br />of substantial property rights of the peti- <br />tioner. <br />(c) That the granting of such application will <br />not materially affect adversely neighboring <br />property or the public welfare, health or <br />safety of persons residing or working in the <br />neighborhood. <br />2. Said Council hereby grants to Otto Techen a variance <br />to allow an excess of 40% lot coverage and to allow a 5 -foot <br />rear yard on a portion of Lot 10, Block 7, Wellesley Park, <br />on strict condition that the construction on said property shall <br />be in strict accordance with the plan heretofore submitted to <br />the Planning Commission and the Council of Redwood City. <br />
