<br />Examples of projects that received grants include addressing waste and storm water issues, <br />reducing air and water pollution, addressing water pollution from coal slurry and reducing radon <br />and other indoor air pollutants. <br /> <br />EPA is conducting Webcasts on Feb. 2,23, and 26 from 1-3 p.m. to help clarify any questions on <br />the application process. <br /> <br />Applications for the CARE grants are due March 9. <br /> <br />For more information about the grants please visit the EPA Web site at www.eoa.aov/care. <br /> <br />Former California Integrated Waste Management Board (CaIRecycle) Workshops <br />Scheduled <br /> <br />CalRecycle, previously known as the California Integrated Waste Management Board, will be <br />holding two public workshops in January to help inform the public about pending decisions and <br />upcoming activities and to provide opportunities for public comment. <br /> <br />The meeting scheduled on Jan. 11 will focus on the Waste Compliance and Mitigation Program. <br />The meeting scheduled on Jan. 13 will address the Materials Management and Local Assistance <br />Program which is formerly known as the Sustainability Program. <br /> <br />The agenda for the Jan. 11 meeting has been posted on online at <br />www.calrecvcle.ca.aov/Calendar/EventDetail.asox?1 D=2549&DS=ACES. <br /> <br />The Jan. 13 meeting agenda has not been posted online but is expected in the near future. <br /> <br />Infrastructure Funding Fairs Scheduled in Coming Months <br /> <br />City officials interested in state infrastructure funds should make note of upcoming funding fairs <br />sponsored by the California Financing Coordinating Committee (CFCC). The fairs are scheduled <br />between February and May and are designed to provide information to applicants about CFCC's <br />financial and technical resources. <br /> <br />The committee is comprised of seven state agencies: the State Water Resources Control Board, <br />California Department of Public Health, California Energy Commission, California Infrastructure <br />and Economic Development Bank (I-Bank), Department of Housing and Community <br />Development, Department of Water Resources, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural <br />Development. Together, these entities facilitate and expedite the completion of infrastructure <br />projects by helping customers combine the financial resources of different agencies. <br /> <br />Registration is required for these free fairs.
