DTSC is currently determining if the source of several polycyclic
aromatic hydrocarbons ("PAHs") identified in the groundwater of one location came
from neighboring properties to ensure no spreading of contaminants.

ALTERNATIVES
Do not extend the term of the Environmental Oversight Agreement with the Department
of Toxic Substance Control, which by default, would put the necessary approvals under
the jurisdiction of the San Mateo County Environmental Health, thereby possibly
extending the timeframe to obtain the closure letter and immunity. Further, do not
authorize the Executive Director to make future amendments to the EOA as necessary
to complete the environmental remediation.

FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact for the time extension. During the execution of the original
EOA, an amount not to exceed $18,100 of Agency housing general funds was
appropriated to reimburse DTSC for the oversight cost.

I
Jeannie Youn~ .
Redevelopmert projecr

I /
V

/)
vI;; ~'~'AA
"/" .
