MINUTE ORDER <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> August 12, 1996 <br /> <br /> MO. 96-198 <br /> <br />CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT <br />Redwood City <br /> <br />DATE: August 14, 1996 <br /> <br />Attention: City Manager <br /> City Attorney <br /> Police Chief <br /> Housing Coordinator <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Funds for Bertha Valencia <br /> <br />Meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood City on August 12, 1996. <br /> <br />Present: Councilmembers Buchan, Howard, La Berge, Leipzig, Ruskin <br /> and Mayor Hartnett <br /> <br />Absent: Claire <br /> <br />The following motion was made, carried and entered on the Minutes: <br /> <br /> M/S: RUSKIN/LA BERGE THAT COUNCIL AUTHORIZE A WRITTEN <br /> COMMUNICATION TO BERTHA VALENCIA AND HER FAM][LY TO EXPRESS <br /> OUR CONDOLENCES AND OUR SUPPORT AND THAT WE ALSO AUTHORIZE <br /> A SUPPLEMENT OF $425 TO THE CITY'S AGREEMENT WITH THE HUMAN <br /> iNVESTMENT PROJECT, WITH THE RECOMMENDATION THAT THE FUNDS <br /> SO AUTHORIZED BE DEVOTED TO CHILDREN WHO ARE THE VICTIMS OF <br /> VIOLENCE AND WOULD BE HAPPY IF THAT MONEY WERE SPECIFICALLY <br /> USED FOR PROVIDING BERTHA VALENCIA HOUSING/ RELOCATION <br /> ASSISTANCE BY THAT AGENCY. <br /> <br /> CARRIED BY I'HE FOLLOWING VOICE VOTE. <br /> AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS BUCHAN, HOWARD, LA BERGE, RUSKIN <br /> AND MAYOR HARTNETT <br /> NOES: COUNCILMAN LEIPZIG <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
