07/09/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9 a ?7 <br />RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS FOR THE MADDUX PARK <br />PLAY AREA RENOVATION PROJECT (REVISED), DIRECTING <br />RETURN OF BID SECURITIES; AND AUTHORIZING AND <br />DIRECTING READVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS THEREFOR <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 14233, adopted May 21, 2001, <br />the City Clerk advertised for bids for the Maddux Park Play Area Renovation <br />Project (Revised), Redwood City, California; and <br />WHEREAS, in response to said advertisement, four bids were received; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has determined that said bids exceeded the <br />amount estimated for the project and that the bid documents require clarification; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, as a result thereof, this Council desires to exercise its <br />reserved right to reject the bids and to authorize and direct the City Clerk to <br />readvertise for bids for the work therein described; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The bids received in response to advertisement for bids made pursuant <br />to Resolution No. 14233. adopted May 21, 2001, for the Maddux Park relay Area <br />Renovation Project (Revised) are hereby rejected; the City Clerk is hereby <br />authorized and directed to return to said bidders the bid securities furnished by <br />them and in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders for said improvement. <br />Reso -1197 1 <br />DES:rg <br />t /FiedVdOL`r.1 /'v OLIflCll <br />071M/01 <br />
