1. That the bid of Belle Haven Realty Co.

in the amount of One Hundred Ninety-Nine Thou. & Eight-Eighty-Five Dol-
lars

($ 199,885.00 ) for the const~lction of a police station

building in the City of Redwood City in accordance with the above-

mentioned plans and specifications is hereby accepted and said

bidder is hereby declared to be tl~e lowest responsible bidder.

2. Any and all bids received by the City of Redwood City

this date for the construction of the abovementioned police station

building other than the bid mentioned in Section 1 hereof are hereby

rejected.
3. This Council hereby finds and determines that public

necessity requires the sub-contracting of all portions of the

abovementioned work as to which a sub-contractor has been designated

in the abovementioned complete list of sub-contractors, which list

of sub-contractors is presently on file in the office of the City

Clerk and incorporated in the bid of the abovementioned Belle Haven

Realty Con~any. The facts constituting said public necessity are
as follows: That present police department facilities of the City

of Redwood City are inadequate and insufficient for the proper

protection of the public peace and safety; That failure to permit

sub-contracting of the abovementioned work would result in great

delay in providing adequate police facilities to the detriment of

the public peace, healttl, safety and welfare; and That failure to

permit the abovementioned sub-contracting would result in increased

costs and expense to the public, which said increased costs could

prevent the construction of said facilities for an indeterminate

period to the detriment of the public peace, health and safety.

4. That any informality in the abovementioned bid of the

Belle Haven Realty Company be, and the same is ,hereby, waived.

*

i~

u
~r

~r

-2-
