6.1 B
Page 1

 . , ': -
'`#.!''M+f 1C.
Frorn,th#y►ttQr
March 22, 2d10
Subject
Standard Form Building, Infrastructure, and Transporation Department Contracts
Recommendation
Receive two standard form Building, Infrastructure, and Transportatiot Contracts: (1)
00520 for public work and improements; (2) standard form professionat services
agreement.
Background
Most of the contracts awarded by the City Council originate in the Building,Infrastructure,
and Transportation Department(Engineering Division}. Far the most part the cantracts are
standard form contracts that are not modified for each particular agreement. Rather, the
contracts retain the same provisions. The prafessional senrices agreements typically t,ilie
an Exhibit A to designate the scope of work for each individual agreement; We will
continue to send each scope to the Courtcil to assure that you are aware of what will be
done tnder the contract.
It is not necessary that the City Council Agenda contain each standard form agreement so
(ang as the Staff recommendation refers to the form agreement. As #t is important, of
course,to assure that the City Council is aware of the agreement being referred#o in the
recommendation, the standard agreemenfis will be periodically sent to the Cauncil
(probably every two years after the Councii eiection). It is anticipated that unnecessary
paper and copying wil!be saved and the Agenda mateials will be thinner rather than more
expansive. In the event that the standard form agreements are modied or are not used,
the City Council wil!receive the non-standard contract as part of the Agenda item.
Alternative
Require that each contract repeatedly be sent to the City Council for each standard form
Agenda contract item.
Fiscal Impact
None, except for paper and copying savings.

Roy C. brams,Interim City Attomey Chu ang,Director Pete ram,City Manager
Attachment
Confract Q0520 and standard forrn professioral services agreement.
