Where possible and appropriate,add housing(including affordable housing)along <br /> Redwood City's primary transportation corridors and where best served by jobs, retail <br /> options,and other essential services <br /> . Where possible and apprapriate,add essential retail services along Redwaod City's main <br /> transit and economic corridors <br /> • Consider reducing parking requirements,adjusting parking prices and ofFering other <br /> amenities that facilitate and promote transit oriented deve[opment <br /> Esfablish an ar��wid�Trans�sortation Demand Pr�grarrt'° <br /> Transportation Demand Management{TDM)refers to a set af comprehensive strategies to <br /> reduce vehicle trips and vehicle miEes traveled(VMT)by promoting altematives such as transit, <br /> carpooling, bicycling,walking,and telecommuting.Many of the features that are incorporated <br /> inta the Circulat+on Section of fihe Built Enviranment Eiement of the City's General Plan are part <br /> of the Gty's TDM strategy,including: <br /> . A street typology system that assigns priority to alternate modes of travel,including the <br /> concept of complete streets <br /> . Pedestrian and bicycle facilities,including Safe Routes to Schools and safe routes to <br /> transit <br /> • Expanded and enhanced public transit service,incltading exclusive bus lanes <br /> . Traffic calming measures <br /> .
