Community Wellness Initiative (Pat Brown, RWC 2020) <br />Ms. Brown also provided an overview of the four initiatives that Redwood City 2020 <br />focuses on. She explained that each partner agency contributes with a $25,000 annual <br />contribution. <br />Each lead partner will describe the goals of the initiative, # years of <br />implementation, impact (# of lives touched), budget/funders, partners <br /> <br />6:40 P.M. Assessing Progress and using data to drive decision-making <br />(Youth Data Archive, JGC) <br />7:10 P.M. Policy leaders <br />. Questions/feedback <br />. Each Partner will share a current issue that is related to RWC 2020 <br />priorities <br />. Partner discussion reo current and potential collaborative efforts <br /> <br />One Council Member spoke about the link between academic achievement and fitness. <br />Another Council Member said the information is more qualitative and it is hard to get <br />quantitative data. She said they are all working on it because the underlying numbers <br />and context for data building will be extremely valuable. One Council Member <br />commented on the interim results, reporting back, the difficulty in getting numbers, the <br />need for benchmark goals, positive intervention versus any negative impacts, and the <br />need to engage people positively. <br /> <br />Another Council Member Foust supported engaging the business community and using <br />the Progress Seminar to share information like the one that the Redwood City School <br />District recently presented to Council on Monday night. Deputy City Manager <br />Gonzalez spoke about Redwood City's Youth Agenda and how different city <br />departments provide youth services and how the city will work with and rely upon <br />partners like Redwood City 2020 to accomplish them. <br /> <br />Librarian Diaz-Slocum (Trustee) thanked everyone, noting that this is a changed <br />community, and thatthey should celebrate all that they have done throughout the <br />years. One Council Member encouraged conversations about maintaining the stability <br />of services to the community and mentioned the library as an example of where they <br />are coordinating to maintain and backfill services. <br /> <br />7:50 P.M.
