"TEX" BEAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council was saddened by the news of the passing <br /> <br />of Ernest H. "Tex" Bean on October 23, 1980; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Tex Bean will long be remembered in the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City and the surrounding community for his concern for, <br /> <br />and kindness to, people of all walks of life; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, included among his many civic involvements was his <br /> <br />participation in the peninsula Celebration Association (being a <br /> <br />founder thereof), the Police Youth Club, Sea Scouting activities, <br /> <br /> <br />the Kiwanis Club, the Eagles Lodge, the Fo;lesters Lodge, and the <br /> <br /> <br />Elks Club; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, his willingness to assist his community through the <br /> <br />generous contribution of his skill, services, and property as owner <br /> <br />of his well-known and successful trucking, crane and rigging company, <br /> <br />will long be remembered and appreciated; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to express its sadness upon the <br /> <br />passing of Tex, and to record its appreciation for his personal <br />C. <br />,5ommuni ty service; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />This'Council does hereby commemorate the memory of Ernest H. <br /> <br />"Tex" Bean upon his passing, and does hereby join in expressing <br /> <br />sorrow and condolences to the family of Tex Bean, on behalf of <br /> <br />itself and on behalf of the entire community. <br /> <br />The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to transmit <br />
