7.A <br />N~iACNMENT a <br />PLG-Jill Ekas <br />From: PLG-Jill Ekas <br />Sent: Thursday, April 22, 2010 4:41 PM <br />To: 'Bilf Caplain' <br />Subject: RE: 9351965 Brewster Ave <br />Dear Mr. and Mrs. Caplain: <br />Because of the legal setback with the Downtown Precise Plan, staff has prepared a zoning amendment to the Central <br />Business Retail Zoning District to allow office uses on the ground floor in some locations, including Brewster Avenue. <br />This amendment can be processed faster than revisions to the Plan which we still hope to have in place in the near <br />future. On Tuesday April 20, the Planning Commission voted 7-0 in favor to recommend approval of the amendment to <br />the City Council. We hope to bring the amendment to Council for a first reading on May 24`h. The second reading of the <br />ordinance amendment (two readings are required for such actions} could occur as soon as June 14`h and the ordinance <br />would be in place in mid-July after a 30 day enactment period. <br />I am glad that you are following the process and hope you can attend the next meeting. Anew notice will be issued at <br />least ten days in advance of the hearing. If you have questions about the proposed amendment, please call me.
