MINUTE ORDER <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br /> August 26, 1996 <br /> <br /> MO. 96-211 <br /> <br />CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT <br />Redwood City <br /> <br />DATE: August 28, 1996 <br /> <br />Attention: City Manager <br /> City Attorney <br /> Council <br /> Community Development Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING AND CONTINUE IT TO THE NEXT <br /> REGULARLY SCHEDULED COUNCIL MEETING (SEPTEMBER 16, <br />1996) <br /> <br />Meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood City on August 26, 1996. <br /> <br />Present: Councihnembers Buchun, Claire, Leipzig, Ruskin <br /> and Mayor Ha~tnett <br /> <br />Absent: Howard and La Berge <br /> <br />The following motion was made, carried and entered on the Minutes: <br /> <br /> M/S: BUCHAN/I.,EIPZIG TO CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING AND <br /> CONTINUE IT TO THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED COUNCIL <br /> MEETING (SEPTEMBER 16, 1996) DURING WHICH TIME WE CAN ASK <br /> QUESTIONS AND FOLLOW UP ITEMS, AND STAFF IS TO PROVIDE A <br /> REPORT, BEFORE THE MEETING, ON THE IMPLICATIONS OF THE <br /> PROPOSAL TO BUILD A 350 FEET LONG, 29 'FEET WIDE ROAD ON <br /> LAUREL WAY <br /> <br /> In respollse to SelliOr planner Passauisi's questions regarding the kind of <br /> report to provide to the Council, City Attorney Schricker advised there <br /> were legal implications. "It is a matter of advocacy... Thc Council has no <br /> legal authority to grant additional buildin5 permits, and I am concerned that <br /> the implication..., that by default you would be drawn into an approval that <br /> would come back later." <br /> <br /> <br />
