"ARTICLE VIII. ELECTRICAL CODE <br /> <br /> "DIVISION '1. ADOPTION OF CODE <br /> <br /> "Section 9.110. Adoption by Reference; Conflicting Provisions: (a) <br />Pursuant to Section 50022.1, et seq., of the Government Code and Section 15 of <br />the Charter of the City of Redwood City, the National Electrical Code, 1996 <br />Edition, as published by the National Fire Protection Association, and the <br />Uniform Administrative Code provisions for the National Electrical Code, 1996 <br />Edition, as published by the International Conference of Building Officials, are <br />hereby adopted and shall be in effect within the City of Redwood City to the <br />same extent as if set out in full herein except as expressly amended by the <br />provisions of this article. <br /> <br /> "(b) In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the provisions of <br />the National Electrical Code, 1996 Edition, hereinafter referred to as the <br />Electrical Code, or the Uniform Administrative Code provisions for the National <br />Electrical Code, 1996 Edition, hereinafter referred to as the Uniform <br />Administrative Code, and the provisions of this chapter, the requirement which <br />prescribes and establishes the higher standard of safety shall apply unless <br />otherwise stated in this article." <br /> <br /> "Section 9.111.
