Section 3.61.65. Roof Sign. A sign that is mounted on the roof of a building,
<br />attached to the side of a roof screen, or mounted on a building wall, eave or parapet in
<br />a manner such that any portion of the sign extends above the roofline.

<br />Section 3.6t.66. Roofline. The top edge of a building wall, eave, parapet or roof
<br />screen, whichever is at a highest elevation.
<br />Section 3.61.67. Routine Maintenance. Cleaning, repainting, refinishing, repair or
<br />replacement of defective parts on a sign or sign structure in a manner that does not
<br />alter the size, height, copy, colors, materials, location or illumination of the sign.

<br />Section 3.61.68. Sign. Any card, cloth, paper, metal, painted, wooden or other visual
<br />communication device of any character that is displayed for outdoor advertising
<br />purposes, on the ground or any tree, wall, bush, rock, fence, building or other structure,
<br />either privately or publicly owned.
<br />
<br />Section 3.61.69. Sign Area. The extreme limits of copy, graphics and background on
<br />a sign face, excluding nonstructural trim and sign structure components.
<br />Section 3.61.70. Sign Face. The surface available on a sign for the purpose of
<br />displaying a message.
<br />
<br />Section 3.61.71. Sign Structure. Any framework, uprights, braces, pedestals or poles
<br />that support a sign face and that are not part of a building.
<br />Section 3.61.72. Supergraphics. Over-sized letters, numerals, symbols, bands or
<br />illustrations painted, printed or stenciled directly onto a building wall, fascia or parapet.
<br />
<br />Section 3.61.73. Sky Sign. An animated sign that is attached to, suspended under or
<br />painted onto the surface of a balloon, blimp, kite, inflated sign or other airborne devise
<br />either secured to any property located within the City or which is located within the City.
<br />
<br />Section 3.61.74. Temporary Sign. A sign fabricated from wood, plastic, cardboard,
<br />canvas, other fabric, or other lightweight material that is displayed for the time period
<br />specified in Division 6 ("Temporary Signs") of this Article.

<br />Section 3.61.75. Time/Temperature Sign. A device displaying the current time
<br />and/or temperature which does not identify or advertise a place, business, product or
<br />service.
<br />
<br />Section 3.61.76. Under-Canopy Sign. A pedestrian-oriented sign suspended
<br />beneath a canopy or an awning.
<br />
<br />Section 3.61.77. Visibility Triangle. A triangular-shaped area adjacent to the
<br />intersection of two (2) streets or the intersection of a driveway and a street or alley
<br />where signs are prohibited as set forth in Division 10 ("Prohibited Signs") of this Article.
<br />The purpose of the visibility triangle is to promote traffic safety by maintaining clear
<br />lines-of-sight for motorists.
<br />
<br />Section 3.61.78. Wall Sign. A sign painted on or mounted against a building wall,
<br />which extends twelve (12) inches or less from the building. A sign extending over
<br />twelve (12) inches from a building shall be considered a projecting sign.
