<br />B.A <br />Pa e 1 <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />from the Cit Clerk <br /> <br />July 12, 2010 <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br />City Council appointments to the Port Commission. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Appoint two applicants to the Port Commission. The Council action will be to vote for <br />two seats that will expire July 31, 2014. This will be a voice vote. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />There are two seats expiring in the Port Commission on July 31,2010. The recruitment <br />period for these seats ran between May 11 and June 18, 2010. The interviews were <br />held on June 28, 2010. Since the closing of the recruitment period, one applicant <br />withdrew their interest to be considered. The appointees will serve until July 31,2014. <br /> <br />The Charter requires that UNo person shall be appointed as a member of the Board who <br />is not at the time of his or her appointment, and has not been continuously for three (3) <br />years immediately preceding, a resident and elector of the City of Redwood City. All <br />members of the commission shall continuously and during their incumbencies be <br />residents and electors of the City." This wording was added to the application so that <br />applicants would affirm and confirm that they meet these conditions as they submitted <br />applications for Council consideration. <br /> <br />Applications received for the Port Commission to fill two seats: <br /> <br />.
