The 2010 Civic
Facilities Carpet Replacement Project replaced worn carpeting at the Municipal
Services Center (administration area), the Community Activities Building (Room 5), Fair
Oaks Community Center (administration area), Fair Oaks Library, City Hall (front
counter area), and Fire Station #20 (bedrooms and day room).

Procurement on this project was accomplished by staff through the California Multiple
Award Schedules Program (CMAS). The State of California's Department of General
Services allows local government agencies access to prenegotiated contracts for the
purchase of certain goods and services. Because prices for these goods/services have
been previously assessed to be fair, reasonable, and competitive, staff can
circumnavigate the bidding process thereby saving both time and expense.

This project was successfully completed in accordance with the plans and specifications
for a total contract cost of $83,973.00. No change orders were generated.

ALTERNATIVES
Council may choose not to accept the project, or not to authorize the release of bonds
and retention which would be contrary to the terms of the agreement and prior Council
action.

FISCAL IMPACT
Sufficient funding for the work of this agreement has been previously appropriated in
fiscal years 2008/09 and 2009/10 as Capital Projects Fund - Carpet Replacement

irem.

144~~
Brian Lee, PE, CFM
Senior Civil Engineer

Chu Chang, PE, LEED ~
Building, Infrastructure and
Transportation Director

Arr ACHMENTS
None

RELATED DOCUMENTS IN CITY CLERK'S OFFICE
None

Peter Ingram
City Manager
