Cedar Street <br />This project for 14 studio units for extremely low-income individuals has <br />obtained its environmental clearance, General Plan and zoning <br />amendments and financing. It is scheduled to break ground in late 2010. <br /> <br />4. Habitat for Humanity <br />This project of eight low income ownership units was complete in May <br />2009. All 8 townhouse units are now occupied, including one accessible <br />unit. <br /> <br />5. Acquisition of 1306 Main St. <br />This property containing 23 studio units was acquired by the City using <br />CDBG, HOME, and RDA Housing Funds. The property is being <br />rehabilitated and will accommodate 22 very low income residents and <br />one on-site manager. Five of the units will be set-a-side for chronic <br />homeless individuals, who will receive case management and supportive <br />services to help them retain their permanent housing. <br /> <br />6. Other <br />Other accomplishments in the area of affordable housing/blight removal <br />included the demolition of buildings and environmental characterization <br />and development of a work plan for cleanup of the Heller Street property. <br /> <br />Discussions continue ongoing with both nonprofit and for-profit housing <br />developers regarding various sites (Day's Inn, Mel's Bowl, 333 Main S1. <br />and various sites downtown). <br /> <br />9 <br />
