A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RECOMMENDING THE ADOPTION OF THE KAISER DOWNTOWN MEDICAL CAMPUS PRECISE PLAN AS REVISED WHEREAS, on December 2, 2002, the City Council of the City of Redwood City ("City Council" or "Council") adopted Ordinance No. 1130-315, to permit the creation of Planned Community Districts as an additional tool to assist the City with its future planning activities; and WHEREAS, in compliance with California Environmental Quality Act regulations, on June 24, 2003, the Planning Commission of the City of Redwood City certified the Kaiser Permanente Redwood City Medical Center Master Plan Final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and considered an Addendum prepared June 18, 2003, for the Kaiser Downtown Medical Campus Precise Plan (the "Precise Plan") prior to making a decision on the project (CEQA Guidelines Section 15164 [d]). WHEREAS, on July 1, 2003, the Planning Commission voted to recommend that the City Council approve the Precise Plan and the associated Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program; and WHEREAS, on July 1, 2003, the Planning Commission voted to recommend to the City Council that the existing Commercial Administrative (CA) and Central Business (CB) zoning districts for the real properties included in the Precise Plan be rezoned to Planned Community (P) zoning district; and WHEREAS, on September 8, 2003, the City Council adopted the Precise Plan; and WHEREAS, on September 8, 2003, the City Council approved the rezone of the existing Commercial Administrative (CA) and Central Business (CB) zoning districts for the real properties included in the Precise Plan to Planned Community (P) zoning district; and WHEREAS, Kaiser is now seeking a Planned Community Permit for the Phase I Hospital Replacement Plan that involves the construction of a new, smaller hospital Atty/Reso/Reso.2031 071210
