72C-2 <br />Notices regarding the proposed stop signs were sent to 62 residences (and their property <br />owners) in the vicinity of the intersection. The notice announced that the stop sign would <br />be recommended to the City Council at this meeting, and indicated that comments on the <br />issue could be submitted to the City's Traffic Engineer before Friday, January 31, 2003. As <br />of that time, three communications were received on this subject: all three indicated <br />support. <br />Alternative <br />Do not install the proposed stop signs. Place intersection warning signs with "cross traffic <br />does not stop" supplementary plates or other similar warning signs on all four of the <br />intersection approaches. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />The stop signs and related pavement markings can be installed an estimated cost of <br />$1,500, which funds are available in the 2002 -2003 Capital Improvement Program budget <br />in the Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program. Minor maintenance costs will be incurred in <br />future years. <br />Richard K.
