DES:yc:10/2/70 ORiGjN_AL OCT 5 '70 RES 0 L UTI 0 N ---------- N O. ~J'?/ RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND THE TRUSTEES OF THE SAN MATEO JUNIOR COLLEGE DISTRICT WHEREAS, the Trustees of the San Mateo Junior College District have applied for a grant by the U. S. Commissioner of Education pursuant to Title I, Part C, of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, Public Law 88-452, 78 Stat. 573, as amended, to stimulate and promote the part-time employment of students, particularly students from low-income families, who are in need of earnings from such employment to pursue courses of study at institutions of higher education; and WHEREAS, the Trustees of the San Mateo Junior College District and the City of Redwood City desire that certain college students engage in work for the City as a public organization under the Work-Study Program authorized by the aforesaid Economic Opportunity Act; and WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is willing to utilize the services of such students; and WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Council an agreement by and between the City of Redwood City and the Trustees of the San Mateo Junior College District relating to the aforesaid Work-Study Program, and it is the intention and desire of this Council to approve said agreement and authorize its execution on behalf of the City; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: That certain agreement entitled "Agreement - Cooperative Education Program," (form dated 10/2/70) by and between the City of Redwood City and the Trustees of the San Mateo Junior
