<br />'-- <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />;' <br /> <br />benE!fits of, or be subjected to discrimination in the under- <br />taking and carrying out of projects receiving Federal financial <br />assistance; <br />NO\"l,' THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That an application on pehalf of the City of Redwood <br />City be made to the Department of aousing and Urban Development <br />for a grant under Section 703 of the Housing and Urban ~evelop- <br />ment Act of 1965, in an amount equal to two-thirds of the develop- <br />ment cost of the ~eighborhood'Facilities .project, such develop- <br />ment cost now estimated .to be $592,470~00. <br /> <br />2. That the Neighborhood Facilities Proje~t (a) is necessary <br />for carrying out a program of health, recreational, social, or <br />similar co~~unity service in the area, (b) is consistent with <br />comprehensive planning for the development of the community, <br />and (c) will be available for use by a signifi'cant porti'on of the <br />area's low- and moderate-income residents. <br />. 3. That the City Manager of the City of Redwood City is here- <br />by authorized and directed to execute and f~le such application, <br />to execute such contracts as may be necessary for the grant <br />applied for to provide such information and furnish such documents <br />as may be required by the Department of Housing and Urban Develop- <br />ment, and to act as the authorized representative of the Applicant <br />in the accomplishment of the Neighborhood Facilities Project. <br />4. That the United States of America and the Secretary of <br />Housing and Urban Development be, and they hereby are, assured of <br />full compliance by the Applicant with the regulations of the <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development effectuating Title <br />VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and with the policy of the <br />Department prohib~ting discrimination on the basis of creed. <br /> <br />,.. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
