<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />one-half times the employee's established rate of pay. <br /> <br /> <br />Compensatory time off, excluding Fire Department drill time, <br /> <br /> <br />may be accumulated in the maximum amount of 45 hours in <br /> <br /> <br />compensation for 30 hours actual overtime worked and based <br /> <br /> <br />upon the aforesaid rate of time and one-half, at the <br /> <br /> <br />request of the employee and with the approval of his <br /> <br /> <br />department head. Any overtime in excess of said maximum <br /> <br /> <br />amount shall be paid in cash. <br /> <br /> <br />"When Police Department personnel are required to <br /> <br /> <br />appear in court in the line of duty on off time, compensatory <br /> <br /> <br />time or cash payment at the aforementioned overtime rate <br /> <br /> <br />shall be granted for actual court time performed: provided, <br /> <br /> <br />however, that a minimum of three hours for each such <br /> <br /> <br />appearance shall be so compensated. Drill time for Fire <br /> <br /> <br />Department personnel shall be 'compensated by equivalent <br /> <br /> <br />time off only. From and after July 1, 1970, when Fire <br /> <br /> <br />Department personnel are required to work an unscheduled <br /> <br /> <br />24 hour shift, or any portion thereof, the first eight hours <br /> <br /> <br />so worked shall be compensated for at the aforesaid overtime <br /> <br /> <br />rate, and the remaining hours so worked shall be compensated <br /> <br /> <br />for at the applicable regular rate of compensation. <br /> <br /> <br />"overtime to be compensated for in cash must be com- <br /> <br /> <br />pensated at the rate of pay at which earned. calculation <br /> <br /> <br />for overtime work shall be on the basis of a 40 hour work <br /> <br /> <br />week: prov ided, however, tha t overtime work for Fire <br /> <br /> <br />Department personnel regularly assigned 24 hour shifts <br /> <br /> <br />shall be calculated on the basis of an average of a 63 hour <br /> <br /> <br />work week. The smallest unit of working time credited as <br /> <br /> <br />overtime shall be one-half houri provided, however, that <br /> <br /> <br />when an employee is called back to duty beyond the normal <br /> <br />-4- <br />
