DES:yc:I0/6/69 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> l~ II' ~ <br /> RE~OLUT.!ON N o. ~/;J.2- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION FORMALLY ACKNOWLEDGING REDWOOD CITY <br />EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION AND REDWOOD CITY POLICE <br />OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION AS EMPLOYEE ORGANIZATIONS <br />REPRESENTING EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 10 of Division 4 of Title I (commencing <br /> <br />with ~3500) of the Government Code provides for the formal <br /> <br />acknowledgment of employee organizations as organizations <br /> <br />representing employees of a public agency; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Redwood City Employees' Association and the <br /> <br />Redwood City police Officers Association have requested this <br /> <br />Council to acknowledge formally that said organizations represent <br /> <br />employees of the City of Redwood city for purposes of qualifying <br /> <br />as lIrecognized employee organizationsll under the aforementioned <br /> <br />chapter of the Government Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council, in the spirit of mutual cooperation <br /> <br />and in furtherance of promoting full communication between the <br /> <br />City as a public employer and its employees, and pursuant to <br /> <br />the aforementioned chapter of the Government Code, desires <br /> <br />formally to acknowledge the above mentioned organizations as <br /> <br />representing employees of the City of Redwood City; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That this Council hereby acknowledges formal1y that the <br /> <br />Redwood City Employees' Association, a california non-profit <br /> <br />corporation, and the Redwood city Police Officers Association, <br /> <br />an unincorporated association (and the <br /> <br />.incorporated successor <br /> <br />of said Police Officers Association, if any there be), do, and <br /> <br />shall, represent employees of the City of Redwood City and shall <br /> <br />have the rights, duties, and obligations of "recognized employee <br />
