<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />DES:yc:5/5/69 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />,-.- <br /> <br />MAY 12 "6'9 <br /> <br />RE~OLUT1.0N <br /> <br />NO. \.r'J e 7 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION URGING PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION OF <br />SAN FRANCISCO TO DELAY PROPOSED INCREASES IN WATER <br />RATES, AND SUPPORTING STUDY PROPOSED BY SAN MATEO <br />COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, San Francisco has announced a proposed increase <br /> <br />in water rates, which increase would drastically raise the cost <br /> <br />of water to the City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, <br /> <br />pursuant to its Resolution No. 26268, adopted April IS, 1969, <br /> <br />has urged the Public utilities Commission of the City and County <br /> <br />of San Francisco to delay any action 9n proposed increases in <br /> <br />water rates until there is time for full and adequate exploration <br /> <br />of the facts supporting such increase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City, as a major consumer of <br /> <br />water supplied by the City and County of San Francisco through <br /> <br />the Hetch Hetchy system desires to participate and join in the <br /> <br />exploration, investigation and hearings relating to the aforesaid <br /> <br />proposed water rate increase; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. That the Public utilities Commission of the City and <br /> <br />County of San Francisco be, and hereby is, urged to delay any <br /> <br />action on proposed increases in water rates until there is time <br /> <br />for full and adequate exploration of the facts supporting such <br /> <br />increase. <br /> <br />2. That the position of the Board of Supervisors of the <br /> <br />County of San Mateo as stated in its Resolution No. 26268, <br /> <br />adopted April 15, 1969, is hereby supported by the Council of <br /> <br />the City of Redwood City. <br />
