<br />'. <br /> <br />~) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />DES:yc:5/2/69 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />HIIY 5 .. <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br />---------- <br /> <br />N O. s-~7R <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY CONSERVATION <br />AND DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION AND URGING SUPPORT OF ITS GOALS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under present legislation, the existence of the <br /> <br />San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission is to <br /> <br />be terminated after final adjournment of the 1969 Regular Session <br /> <br />of the State Legislature; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the goals and purposes of the said Commission <br /> <br />include the protection of the present shoreline and body of the <br /> <br />San Francisco Bay to the maximum extent possible, and preservation <br /> <br />of the Bay as a natural resource in the furtherance of the public <br /> <br />interest; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has for many years <br /> <br />expressed its interest in, and support of, the aforementioned <br /> <br />goals as evidenced by the establishing of its Bay shoreline prior <br /> <br />to any other City in San Mateo County; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. That this Council does hereby endorse the activities <br /> <br />of the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission, <br /> <br />and urges the Legislature of the State of California to continue <br /> <br />its existence and maintain its present jurisdiction. <br /> <br />2. That this Council urges the citizens of the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City and the Bay Area to support the goals and purposes <br /> <br />of the said Commission and to cooperate with its activities. <br /> <br />3. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed <br /> <br />to send a copy of this resolution to the San Francisco Bay <br /> <br />Conservation and Development Commission, State Senator Dolwig, <br /> <br />and State Assemblyman Britschgi. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br />
