The polls <br />at the polling place hereinafter mentioned shall be opened <br />at 7 A.M. and shall be kept open continuously thereafter <br />until 7 P.M. on the day of the election (except as other- <br />wise permitted by Section 709 of the Ordinance), when said <br />polls shall be closed (except as provided in Section 14436 <br />of the Elections Code of the State of California), and the <br />board of election shall thereupon proceed to canvass the <br />ballots cast thereat in the manner provided in Section 716 <br />of the Ordinance. <br />11. The election shall be held and conducted and <br />the votes thereat canvassed, and the returns thereof made, <br />and the result thereof ascertained and determined as here- <br />in provided. In all particulars not prescribed in this <br />resolution the election shall be held pursuant to Chapter <br />7 of the Ordinance so far as the same shall be applicable. <br />Immediately after the canvass and declaration of the results <br />of the election, the board of election shall post the results <br />of the election at the entrance of the polling place and <br />shall forward to the City Clerk the certificate and docu- <br />ments referred to in clauses (b) and (c) of Section 717 of <br />the Ordinance and the City Clerk shall certify the results <br />of the election to the Council and the Council shall meet <br />and canvass said returns and enter them in a resolution <br />adopted by it at its re~ular meeting next following the <br />date of the election, to wit: on Monday, December 16, 1968, <br />at the hour of 7:30 P.M.
