U\.4d~ RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF MUNICIPAL SERVICES CENTER, CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVEDj AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK; AND, DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSITS WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 5733, adopted June 24, 1968, the city Clerk called for bids for the demolition of existing buildings, structures, and paving, and the construction of new buildings, structures, paving, ,fences, and improvements and related work in connection with the construction of a municipal services center in the City of Redwood City; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said'call, bids were received for the performance of said work;and filed with the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, WELCH CONSTRUCTION, INC., Menlo Park, California, is the lowest responsible bidder and it "is the int.ention and 'desire of this Council to award said'bid to said/welch Construction, Inc.; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: 1. The bid of WELCH CONSTRUCTION, INC." in the total lump sum amount of One Million One Hundred Eleven Thousand Five Hundred Ninet.y-Four and no/lOO Dollars ($1,111,5.94.00), in accordance with said bidder's proposal opened August 7, 1968, consisting of the base bid item only, with no deductions for alternate bid items, is hereby accepted and said bidder is hereby found and declared to be the lowest responsible bidder for said work. M~asurement and payment items and special unit prices as set forth in Schedule A and Schedule B, 'respectively, of said bidder's proposal are hereby approved 'and accepted. No alter- ,nates contained in said proposal are accepted by the city,and the work to be performed is all that work described and included in the base bid without deletion of any portion of the work set forth in the alternate bid items.
