i <br />CONE-R-2 <br />NOW, THEREFORE: <br />1. Said Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby <br />declare, and does hereby give notice that, pursuant to the <br />provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of <br />1939, proceedings have been initiated by it, on its own motion <br />without requiring a petition, to annex to said City all that <br />territory hereinafter designated and described. <br />2. Said Council does hereby declare that its reasons for <br />desiring said annexation are as follows: To contribute to and <br />facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City <br />and the territory proposed to be annexed; to encourage, assist, <br />and facilitate proper design, layout, construction and control <br />of streets, sewers, and other public improvements, in both City <br />and said territory; to provide for proper control of land use <br />in both areas in conformity with over -all zoning plans of the <br />City; and to provide other municipal services to said territory <br />for the mutual benefit of the City and said territory. <br />3. <br />19 , at the <br />hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., in the Board of Supervisor's Chambers, <br />Hall of Justice and Records, Redwood City, San Mateo County, <br />California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and <br />where any person owning real property within the uninhabited <br />territory hereinafter described and proposed to be annexed to <br />the City of Redwood City, may appear before said Council and <br />show cause why such territory should not be annexed to said <br />City. <br />4. The City Clerk of the City of Redwood City is hereby <br />directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published in <br />the Redwood City Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation <br />-2- <br />
