RJC :mac :1 /13/61 -7 <br />R E S G L U T I O N N O. 3294 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING SETTLEMENT OF CITY CLAIM FOR <br />DAVAGE TO CITY PROPERTY (EASTER CROSS) IN AMOUNT <br />OF $4 AND, AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF RELEASE <br />OF SAID CLAIM <br />11,HEREAS, on November 1, 1960, unknown vandals destroyed <br />certain property of the City of Redwood City consisting of <br />a structural steel and sheet metal cross known as the Easter <br />Cross; and, <br />WHEREAS, United Pacific Insurance Company, U. S. Fire <br />Insurance Company, and Hartford Fire Insurance Company, insured <br />the City of Redwood City against such loss; and, <br />WHEREAS, said insurance companies have offered to settle <br />the claims of the City of Redwood City with respect to said <br />loss for a total sum of four thousand five hundred dollars <br />($4,500); and, <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention and desire of this Council <br />to accept said offer; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the abovementioned settlement of the claim in <br />the total amount of four thousand five hundred dollars ($4,500) <br />be and the same is hereby approved as follows: <br />(a) U. S. Fire Insurance Company, Policy #CL 560063 <br />Payment to City $1,500 <br />(b) United Pacific Insurance Company, Policy #CF 7885 <br />Payment to City 750 <br />(c) Hartford Fire Insurance Company, Policy ;-HMD 570730 <br />Payment to City 2,250 <br />Total $4,500 <br />
