COM -R- 2 <br />NOW, THEREFORE: <br />1. Said Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby <br />declare, and does hereby give notice that, pursuant to the <br />provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of <br />1939, proceedings have been initiated by it, on its own motion <br />without requiring a petition, to annex to said City all that <br />territory hereinafter designated and described. <br />2. Said Council does hereby declare that its reasons for <br />desiring said annexation are as follows: To contribute to and <br />facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City <br />and the territory proposed to be annexed; to encourage, assist, <br />and facilitate proper design, layout, construction and control of <br />streets, sewers, and other public improvements, in both City and <br />said territory; to provide for proper control of land use in <br />both areas in conformity with over -all zoning plans of the City; <br />and to provide other municipal services to said territory for <br />the mutual benefit of the City and said territory. <br />3. March .6 _ 19 61 at the hour <br />of 8:00 o'clock P.M., in the Board of Supervisor's Chambers, Hall <br />of Justice and Records, Redwood City, San Mateo County, California, <br />is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person <br />owning real property within the uninhabited territory hereinafter <br />described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Redwood City, <br />may appear before said Council and show cause why such territory <br />should not be annexed to said City. <br />4. The City Clerk of the City of Redwood City is hereby <br />directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published in <br />the Redwood City Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation <br />in the City of Redwood City, and in the San Mateo Times, a <br />newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of <br />Redwood City but within the County of San Mateo, California, in <br />- 2 - <br />
