<br />6.18 <br />~gEC4"tract# <br />200809-498 A <br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />REDWOOD OTY, CA <br /> <br />RCSD l\.1EMORANDUM # <br /> <br />(2009-2010) <br /> <br />June 9, 2010 <br /> <br />TO: SCHOOL BOARD <br /> <br />FROM: JAN CHRISTENSEN, SUPERINTENDENT <br /> <br />SUBJECT: APPRO V AL OF THE AMENDMENT BETWEEN THE REDWOOD <br />CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF REDWOOD OTY <br />FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2009-2010 <br /> <br />RCSD Goal: Ensure that all schools are places where children grow intellectually, <br />socially, physically and emotionally. <br /> <br />RECOfvlMENDATION: <br /> <br />It is the Administration's recommendation that the School Board approve the <br />attached Amendment between the Gty of Redwood Gty and the Redwood Gty <br />School District (RCSD) as submitted. <br /> <br />PERTINENT FACTS: <br /> <br />The governing board approved the agreement on June II, 2009 between the <br />Redwood City School District and the City of Redwood Gty to provide an After <br />School Education and Safety (ASES) program in the after school learning center <br />program at Fair Oaks, Garfield Charter, John Gill, Hawes, Hoover, Selby Lane and <br />Taft Schools. The term for this agreement is from July I, 2009 through June 30, <br />2010. <br /> <br />The Garfield School ASES BASE (180 School Days) is being reduced on-going from <br />the 2009-2010 school year because the City of Redwood City after school program <br />only reached 83% of the required 85% minimum attendance expectation of the <br />ASES grant funding. RCSD in turn, is reducing the ASES funding for Garfield <br />BASE funding reflected by the Amendment in COlvfPENSA TION in section 11. <br />
