P-1314 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION DULY RECOGNIZING CERTAIN MARITIME <br /> ACHIEVEMENTS OF PETER UCCELLI <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Port Commissioners of the City of <br />Redwood City is, under the Charter of the City of Redwood City, <br />responsible for promoting maritime commerce and navigation in the <br />City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in carrying out its duties this Board has had <br />occasion, from time to time, to observe the activities of Peter <br />Uccelli as they affect commerce and navigation in the waterfront <br />areas of the City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said activities include his due regard for <br />environmental interests by, for example, encouraging the aquatic <br />capabilities of the red-bellied marsh mouse by forcibly urging <br />that species to relocate in the waters of Redwood Creek; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, his pursuit in maritime commerce led him to <br />establish the "Lands of Uccelli" as an independent trading nation <br />within the Port Area of the City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, although it is somewhat difficult for persons of a <br />certain political persuasion to obtain diplomatic recognition <br />from his m©narchical form of government, nevertheless said <br />government readily engages in commercial transactions without <br />discrimination whatsoever; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is fitting that this Board give due recognition <br />to Peter Uccelli, as leader of his own nation, for his efforts in <br />advancing maritime commerce in the Port Area, with particular <br />regard to his past efforts in repulsing the State of California <br /> <br /> <br />
