<br />;- <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />l <br />. <br /> <br />City of Redwood City <br />Class Specification <br />June 15, 1959 <br /> <br />TREE TRIMMER <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />Under general superv1s1on, to perform a variety of skilled <br />duties relating to the planting, trimming, care, and removal <br />of trees and shrubs, and to do related work as required. <br /> <br />TYPICAL TASKS <br /> <br />Prunes, fertilizes, and sprays trees '.and shrubs; removes <br />dangerous and diseased trees; plants trees and shrubs; cables <br />weak traes and branches; boxes trees for transplanting; may <br />supervise small crew in trimming low tree branches and shrubs <br />and clearing away debris. The duties may include the treating <br />of tree diseases and grafting. <br /> <br />EM~LOYMENT STANDARDS <br /> <br />A combination of education and experience substantially <br />equivalent to completion of the tenth grade and three years <br />experience in trimming, planting, and general care of trees <br />and shrubs. <br /> <br />Knowledge of the materials, methods, and tools used in the <br />pruning, planting, and care of trees and shrubs; knowledge <br />of the common names of trees and shrubs; ability to direct <br />the work of others; ability to repair and maintain garden <br />tools; ability to operate a light truck and power equipment <br />and tools used in park maintenance work; ability to meet <br />the public; physical strength and agility. <br /> <br />Exhibit "D" <br />
