Bay Area Legal Aid provides free legal assistance to low- <br /> income residents throughout the Bay Area. Funds requested are to provide free <br /> assistance to self-represented domestic vioience victims in San Mateo County <br /> who are seeking to apply for a temporary restraining order through the San <br /> Mateo County Domestic Violence Restraining Order Clinic located in Redwood <br /> City. <br /> Funding Requested: $�5,000, Fund�ng Recommended: $10,000. <br /> CORA 24-Hour Crisis Hotline and Support Services. The 24 Hour Crisis <br /> Hotline and Support Services provides 24-hour, year-round ernergency <br /> assistance to victims of domestic violence, as well as those in danger of <br /> becoming victims of violence. Funding Requesfed: $15,040. Funding � <br /> Recommended: $12,000. '� <br /> Fresh Lifelines f II <br /> or Youth, Inc (FLY). FLY is a nonprof�t organ�zation whose <br /> mission is to prevent juvenile crime and incarceration through legal education, <br /> mentoring, and leadership training. Funds requested are to provide legal ' <br /> education and leadership training to Redwood City at-risk youth attending County <br /> sponsored Community Schools in Redwood City and prevention programming to <br /> middle school youth in Redwood City. Funding Requested:$25,000. Funding <br /> Recommended: $9,004. <br /> Friends for Youth, Inc. — Mentorinq Services for Redwood Citv Youth <br /> Friends for Youth matches youth-in-need with adult volunteers in one-to-one <br /> mentoring relationships. Funding Requested: $7,500. Funding Recommended: <br /> $5,767. <br /> International Institute of the Bay Area (IIBA) —ServinA Immiqrant Victims of <br /> Violent Crime. The IIBA helps immigrants who are legally eligibfe to apply for <br /> work authorization, green cards, and obtain US Citizenship. Funds requested <br /> are to inform the immigrant community about the new U visa laws - a visa <br /> specifically designated to provide legal status and work authorization for <br /> immigrant victims of violent crimes, including domestic violence, who would <br /> otherwise be afraid to call the police or testify in court--and to provide legal <br /> application assistance to those who qualify.
