6.3C <br /> Page 3 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY PROCLAIMING THE TERMINATION OF THE LOCAL <br /> EMERGENCY <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with the proclamation of the Director of Emergency <br /> Services on September 1, 2010, and its ratification by the City Council on September 8, <br /> 2010, a local emergency existed in the City of Redwood City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the public emergency existed because of a ruptured sewer force <br /> main in the area of Davit Lane and Anchor Circle in Redwood Shores and in the <br /> Redwood Shores lagoon which constituted a threat to life, health, property, and <br /> essential public services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Services authorized the emergency <br /> actions taken to address and mitigate the sewage spill, including repair of public <br /> infrastructure and protection of surface water resources, are necessary actions to <br /> prevent or mitigate an emergency; and <br /> WHEREAS, a small aircraft crashed into the Redwood Shores lagoon on <br /> September 2, 2010, requiring the City to make further expenditures to mitigate the <br /> effects of the crash on surface water; and <br /> WHEREAS, the local emergency created by the ruptured sewer force main and <br /> the airplane crash is now deemed to be within the control of normal services, personnel, <br /> equipment, and facilities of and within the City of Redwood City. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY, that the City Council hereby proclaims the termination of the local <br /> emergency. <br /> ATTY/RESO/RESO.2053 1 <br /> 100410 <br />
