6-1 D-) <br />March 10, 2003 <br />Subject <br />Final Acceptance — Emergency Power for Essential Facilities Project <br />Recommendation <br />Accept the improvements for the Emergency Power for Essential Facilities Project, and <br />authorize the release of bonds. <br />Background <br />The Emergency Power for Essential Facilities Project provided four City facilities: (1) Fair <br />Oaks Community Center, (2) Community Activities Building, (3) Veterans. Memorial Senior <br />Center, and (4) Sandpiper Community Center, with the capability of an easy means to <br />provide electrical power in the case of a natural disaster or power failure. The work included <br />the installation of new manual transfer switches and high voltage receptacles to be used with <br />portable generators, in the event of an emergency in providing HVAC, lighting, and power. <br />S.G. Barber Construction completed the project in accordance with the Contract Documents. <br />One change order was issued in the amount of $1,120.00, bringing the total Project cost to <br />$99,629.00.
