6, I C- <br />March 10, 2003 <br />Subject <br />Final Acceptance — Fair Oaks Community Center HVAC Project <br />Recommendation <br />Accept the improvements for the Fair Oaks Community Center (FOCC) HVAC Project, and <br />authorize the release of bonds. <br />Background <br />The FOCC HVAC Project replaced all the HVAC systems with new high efficiency <br />equipment. The original equipment had served the facility for over 25 years and was failing. <br />In addition, a new screen wail was built to shield all the new roof -top mounted equipment <br />from view, off Middlefield Road. <br />Beals- Martin, Inc. of Redwood City, completed the work in accordance with the Contract <br />Documents, for a total amount of $242,987, which included a deductive change order of <br />$7,347.00. <br />Alternative <br />Do not accept the improvements for the FOCC HVAC Project, which would be contrary to <br />prior Council action. <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />Funds in the amount of $260,000 were appropriated in the 2001 -2002 Capital Improvement <br />Program Budget for this ojJec-t-.- <br />l IGL , � i <br />Brian Lee Bruce Liedstrand Ed Everett <br />Senior Civil Engineer Community Development Services Director City Manager <br />BL:ss <br />s/ library/reports/brianVAccept_FOCC HVAC <br />
