HERE'S WHO
With exception of the housing on school sites
issue —this bill expands upon last year's contro-
versial measure AB 1866 (Wright), which was
signed into law. Currently, many local govern-
ments are in the process of amending their
ordinances to reflect the many changes in that
measure. This bill proposes a slew of additional
measures and state mandates which would
further limit local ability to address zoning, parking,
size and other issues which address the complex
_ issues associated with locating additional housing
units on single family lots. Slashing local parking
requirements for density bonus units by legislative
fiat is a one - size - fits -all approach that will no doubt
only increase community opposition to these
projects. Zoning from the state level all school
sites for residential housing is a proposed policy
which will touch many issues beyond local control.
Staff: Dan Carrigg, Status: Likely to be assigned:
AsHou &ComDev; AsLG, Position: Oppose.
ENVIRONMENTAL
AB 729 (Lieber).
