He further explained the two charts and that with passive <br />conservation we can meet our water assurance goal by 2020 but the downside of that <br />is no growth. That means no libraries or Kaiser Hospital and that we need to work with <br />conservation programs. <br />Public Comment: <br />Christina Lai stated it is a pleasure to see the City Council address the issue of water <br />supply availability as it relates to treated wastewater and sustainable growth. She <br />further stated that according to attachments 1 and 2 that if we favor the side of <br />development interests, we will be faced with a significant demand on the Bay Area <br />water supply. The only thing clear about treated wastewater is that more research <br />needs to be done. She asked that staff attend the California Urban Water <br />Conservation Council workshop. She stated that the developers and their projects are <br />the reasons behind the treated wastewater project and many in the Safewater <br />Coalition are strongly opposed to this just to save 264.7 acre -feet to have <br />irresponsible growth at our citizen's expense. <br />C.
