T10-1 <br />April 14, 2003 <br />Subject <br />Final Acceptance — City Hall Council Chamber AudioNisual System <br />Recommendation <br />Accept the improvements for the City Hall Council Chamber AudioNisual Systems <br />installed by MCSi of Berkeley, California, and release the retention and bonds. <br />Background <br />On June 10, 2002, the City Council approved the Agreement with MCSi of Berkeley, <br />California, in the amount of $125,846.91 to upgrade the existing audio /visual system in <br />the City Council Chamber. <br />The improvements included: <br />➢ New LCD video projector <br />➢ Installation of the presenter timer at the public podium. <br />➢ Wiring changes to allow the public podium to be located where it is now, <br />without cables on the floor. <br />➢ A broadcast production system, including remote - controlled cameras and a <br />console. <br />➢ An upgrade to the control system, which will make the system easier to <br />operate. <br />Individual monitors for staff and Council members. <br />The installation of the equipment and the testing is now complete, and the system is <br />working properly with broadcasts to both RCN and Comcast. <br />Alternatives <br />Do not accept the work that was completed. There is no benefit to not accepting the <br />project; the work has been completed and MCSi has been paid. <br />Paoe 1 of 2 <br />
