9. c -2 <br />2. In addition, at the request of the San Mateo County Ombudsperson, Redwood City <br />Police will accompany the Ombudsperson to inspect a Redwood City elder care <br />facility in response to a complaint of elder abuse. Upon finding such indications of <br />elder abuse, Police will take appropriate action as prescribed by law. <br />These policies will have a long -term positive impact on the community and are cost - <br />effective even within current budget constraints. This policy resolution is supported by <br />the Redwood City Senior Affairs Commission and the San Mateo County Office of the <br />Ombudsperson whose responsibility it is to oversee protection of senior citizens from <br />abuse and neglect. <br />Ira Ruskin FI <br />Council Member <br />Attachment <br />Proposed resolution <br />
