SB 916 Senate Bill - AMENDED <br />9 D -14 <br />SEC. 10. Section 30102.5 is added to the Streets and <br />Highways Code, to read: <br />30102.5. The Bay Area Toll Authority shall fix the rates of the <br />toll charge, except as provided in Section 30921, and may grant <br />reduced -rate and toll -free passage on the state -owned toll bridges <br />within the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Transportation <br />Commission. <br />cyn in <br />SEC. 11. Section 30113 of the Streets and Highways Code is <br />amended to read: <br />30113. (a) The commission may utilize net revenues from toll <br />bridges in order to finance research on high technology motion <br />control devices to be used on the bridges. <br />(b) If the Metropolitan Transportation Commission allocates toll <br />bridge net revenues as defined in Section 30884, it may utilize net <br />revenues from the bridges under its jurisdiction to finance the <br />research referred to in subdivision (a). <br />SEC. 12. Article 5 (commencing with Section 30200) of <br />Chapter 1 of Division 17 of the Streets and Highways Code is <br />repealed. <br />SEC. 13. Article 7 (commencing with Section 30350) of <br />Chapter 1 of Division 17 of the Streets and Highways Code is <br />repealed. <br />SGT '3 <br />SEC. 14. Section 30600 of the Streets and Highways Code is <br />amended to read: <br />30600. As used in this article, the following definitions apply: <br />(a) "Authority" means the Bay Area Toll Authority created pursuant <br />to Chapter 4.3 (commencing with Section 30950). <br />(b) "Toll bridge" means that certain bridge across San Francisco <br />Bay known as the San Francisco - Oakland Bay Bridge and the approaches <br />thereto. <br />— 1 <br />SEC. 15. Section 30601 of the Streets and Highways Code is <br />amended to read: <br />30601. The toll bridge and the approaches to it are a primary <br />state highway. No law providing that state highways shall be free <br />highways affects the power or duty of the authority to fix the rates <br />of toll for the toll bridge or the power and duty of the department <br />to collect the tolls so fixed by the authority for the use of the <br />toll bridge. <br />^- , <br />SEC. 16. Section 30603 of the Streets and Highways Code is <br />repealed. <br />— ' 6 <br />SEC. 17. Section 30604 of the Streets and Highways Code is <br />amended to read: <br />30604.
