Memo <br />To: Council Members <br />From: Richard Claire, Mayor <br />CC: City Clerk, City Manager, Liaisons <br />Date: April 24, 2003 <br />Re: Interview Process for Boards, Committees and Commissions <br />I am proposing that screening of the applications be done to prepare for the upcoming <br />interviews. I suggest that a subcommittee of two Council Members be responsible for <br />screening applications for each of the three boards, committees or commissions. The <br />subcommittee will make a recommendation to the Council as to which applicants should be <br />interviewed by the entire Council. All Council Members will receive copies of all applications <br />and if any Council Member wishes to add an applicant to the final interview, we will <br />accommodate that. This process will be scheduled for discussion under Matters of Council <br />Interest at an upcoming Council meeting. <br />The following is a list of expiring seats and the Council Members I propose as screeners: <br />Library Board - 3-year terms expire in June (Council Members Pierce and Ruskin) <br />Pat Taviss - appointed 8/00 <br />Nicet Santos - appointed 7/91, 6/94, 6/97, 6 /00 <br />Planning Commission - 3-year terms expire in June (Mayor Claire and Council Member <br />Hartnett) <br />Rosanne Foust - appointed 7/00 <br />Ken McCoy - appointed 7/00 <br />Hilary Paulson - appointed 7100 <br />Port Commission - 5-year terms expire in July (Council Members Ira and Howard) <br />Lewis D. Miller - appointed 7/93, 7/98 <br />
