3.2A2 <br />Notices (in English and Spanish) describing the proposed stop signs were sent to 150 <br />residences in the blocks adjacent to the intersections. The notice announced that the stop <br />signs would be recommended to the City Council at this meeting, and indicated that <br />comments on the issue could be submitted to the City's Traffic Engineer by April 14, 2003. <br />As of that time, four communications were received on this subject, with all four indicating <br />support for the proposed stop signs. <br />Alternative <br />1. Do not install the proposed stop signs. The intersections would remain uncontrolled as <br />at present, or place pedestrian crossing warning signs or other similar warning signs at <br />the intersections. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Cost of installing the stop signs and related pavement markings at the two intersections is <br />estimated at $3,500. Funds for this project are available in the 2002 -2003 Capital <br />Improvement Program budget in the Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program. Minor <br />maintenance costs will be incurred in future years. <br />Richard K.
