EXHIBIT "A" <br />PRECONSTRUCTION DESIGN SERVICES <br />FOR THE <br />DOWNTOWN UNDERGROUND PUBLIC PARKING FACILITY <br />Scope of Work <br />Provide architectural and engineering design and related services for <br />constructing a two -level underground parking facility to accommodate <br />approximately 590 spaces to be located within the parcel surrounded by <br />Jefferson Avenue, Broadway, and Middlefield Road (known as "Block 1 "). <br />The design shall be in accordance with City of Redwood City Engineering Design <br />Standards Volumes I, II and III dated, January 5, 1998; the latest edition of the <br />Uniform Building Code, and in general conformance with standard design <br />practice for public parking facilities. <br />The design shall be prepared and stamped by Professional Engineers and /or <br />Architects with valid licenses in the State of California. <br />The architectural and engineering design and related services shall include, but <br />are not limited to: <br />Site investigation and field review <br />Engineering studies, as required <br />Preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates <br />Attending design review meetings <br />Reviewing contractor's submittals <br />Responding to contractor's Request for Information (RFIs) and Requests <br />for Clarification (RFCs) <br />Reviewing Change Order requests <br />Field Investigation during construction <br />Preparing Record Drawings <br />Certified Cost of Construction: <br />The Developer shall prepare a Certified Cost of Construction from their design <br />and construction team that will be used to prepare the construction budget for the <br />public underground parking facility. The construction budget shall not be <br />exceeded without prior approval from the City. In the event of unforeseen or <br />unexpected increases in the estimated cost of the underground parking facility, <br />the Developer shall immediately meet and confer with the City in resolving the <br />Exhibit "D" <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />Mibrary/underground parking garage/Parking Facility— Exhibits A,B,C B D <br />
